About the Author: Louis Bahat Hamada was born to an artistocratic Lebanese family on October 12, 1928, in Hawran (biblical Haran), a southwestern district of Syria, where his father served as Prosecutor General under the French mandatory rule. After the untimely death of his parents in the late 1930's, he was raised in Lebanon by his grandfather who was acting as head of the Druze religion, an outgrowth of the Shiite sect of Islam. Louis came to the United States in 1953 as a foreign student and was dramatically converted to faith in Christ on September 11, 1955, Since then, in spite of many difficulties, he has persevered under grueling circumstances and has learned that without the Lord's help, he "can do nothing" (John 15:5)! As a result, the Lord began to reward Louis with many blessings by helping him to earn several degrees to be used for God's glory: a PhD from Florida State University; a masters from Dallas Theological Seminary; and a Doctor of Letters (D.Litt.) from Oxford Graduate School.
