Features:The book covers each organ system affected by spina bifida, psychosocial impact of the initial diagnosis, ongoing care, and long term outlook. Individual chapters are dedicated to each of these areas. The sections addressing the psychosocial issues and comments by patients' families are perhaps the strongest areas.Assessment:This is a very useful book for parents and healthcare providers interested in the complexities of spina bifida. Compared to other similar books I have seen, this one does a better job of providing insight into the psychological aspects of having a child with this impairment.
