Since the information is based on answers to questionnaries sent to those included in the book, some entries lack complete data Translated from the Spanish, this source covers more than 200 authors and illustrators from Mexico, Spain, Cuba, Central and South America, and the U.S. An appendix listing the entries by country of origin or citizenship shows that more than half of them are from Spain. A few writers, such as Gary Soto and Nobel Prize winner Camilo Jose Cela, are well known, but most will be difficult to find in other biographical sources This volume will be especially helpful in libraries serving Spanish-speaking children.
