Exceptions to this are the advanced tests (LI and L2), which cost $48 each to take. To obtain a registration form, contact ASE and request the free Bulletin of Information booklet. The tests are normally given twice a year, once in the spring (May) and once in the fall (November).\ Certifications are valid for five years. After this time period, you must take a recertification test. Recertification indicates you have kept up with the changing technology.
