Simon Rawidowicz (1896-1957) was the first chairman of the Department of Near Eastern and Judaic Studies at Brandeis University and a founder of the World Union for Hebrew Culture. The essays collected in this book present his view that there is a pertnership between the State of Israel and the Diaspora, and provide a rationale for Jewish survival and creativity in the Diaspora.
