Tannenbaum and Bush, both affiliated with WritersCorps, offer numerous exercises that engage students in personal expression and reinforce standards-based lessons. Exercises are grouped into eleven chapters, from ice breakers to editing, and inspire students to write poetry, fiction, personal narrative, and plays.
