MANUAL OF HOME HEALTH NURSING PROCEDURES provides home health care agencies with a manual of guidelines and standardized nursing procedures performed in the home. This valuable resource includes over 250 procedures, with 45 new in this edition. Packaged with the binder is a CD-ROM containing all procedures, allowing agencies to customize the content to meet their needs. This three-ring manual is a reflection of the procedural changes in home care as shaped by economic, technological, and social changes. This book is divided into six major topics: infection, assessment, medical-surgical care, nutrition, emergency care, and the home milieu. All procedures have been updated and 45 new procedures have been added, including pain assessment, discontinuing central venous catheter, and nephrostomy catheter care. Many procedures include patient education guides and incorporate cultural considerations. The appendix includes normal blood and urine laboratory values. Each chapter has an extensive bibliography. A CD-ROM of the procedures is included with the manual so the agency can adjust the content as needed. Home care nurses practice in dynamic, complex structures with limited resources. As nurses continue their roles to maximize the health of patients and help them to provide selfcare, they need tools to facilitateefficient care.
