In 610 A.D. the Prophet Muhammad began receiving a series of revelations from God through the angel Gabriel. He revealed the messages to Arabian polytheists, Jews, and Christians. Their rejection was a source of great disappointment and led to the beginnings of Islam. In his Night Journey from Mecca to Heaven in A.D. 621, Muhammad first stopped in Jerusalem to signify that the leadership in man's relationship with God had been transferred from Judaism and Christianity to Islam. The Jews had been dispersed and the Holy Land was in the hands of the Byzantine Christians at the time of his visit. He then went on to visit and pray with the prophets who came before him: Abraham, Moses, and Jesus. Muhammad died in A.D. 632; Muslims and Christians have been at war continually somewhere in the world ever since. In the early twentieth century the British reintroduced the Jews into the Holy Land, over the strenuous objections of the resident Muslims, as part of a strategy to protect their oil reserves in the Middle East. The British Empire is long gone and has been replaced by the United States and its insatiable demand for Middle Eastern crude oil. Like the Tar Baby in Brer Rabbit, we are stuck to the Muslim oil reserves and currently cannot extract ourselves. Israel has become a lightning rod for Muslim militants, but is only a surrogate for the United States in the continuing conflict between Christianity and Islam. After the 1967 war, the level of violence became increasingly horrific, and attacks have spread to the United States. On a Clear Day I Can See Armageddon chronicles the historical events that have led to America's Middle Eastern Achilles' heel. The book provides a blueprint for necessary military and political actions by the United States to retain access to that oil and mitigate future attacks against its interests. It also describes proven technical solutions developed in other nations that can reduce America's oil requirements and the conflict with Islam while maintaining a vibrant economy.
