Born poor and soon to be without a father, a southern boy is raised in a world of women. Sometimes sad, occasionally tragic, and always hysterically funny, George soon learns that it isn't money but wit that overcomes most things, and discovers that everyone has some sort of value. Along the way we learn about families, friends, and growing up in the post WWII south.
