The chapter on archaeology and anthropology was dropped from the fourth edition at the suggestion of official reviewers, but the howl of protests from teachers and students have brought it back. The goal is to help students relate their gendered experiences to the social and political world, then look beyond their own lives to the diversity of gendered experiences.
