This volume is the first comprehensive roster or alphabetical listing of the surnames of over 3,500 naval officers and privateersmen of the American Revolution from 1775 to 1783. The book provides each officer's name and, where available, his home town, dateof his commission, name of his vessel, number of guns and men, his record of achievement or capture, plus a reference entry for each officer.
