Sometimes the issues are two-sided, such as whether or not abstinence-only sex education works. Some are more multifaceted, such as the various views on what influences teens most in their attitudes toward sex. The editors make a clear effort to find experts to provide these essays, and each article starts with information about the author to clarify where they are coming from. Teens and sex tends to be a touchy subject, but this book handles it deftly and fairly. The concise essays provide a wealth of information. In addition to demonstrating the different opinions on teens and sex, the various pieces demonstrate how statistics and studies can sometimes contradict each other, as most authors found studies to back up their positions. Each chapter provides a bibliography of articles, with books listed at the end of the book. Also included is a list of organizations to contact with further questions.
